INTRODUCTION
Thank you for your interest in this survey. Your input is vitally important and will be used by organizations that support people living with and caring for people who have a primary cancer with brain metastases. Brain metastases are cancerous growths/tumours which develop in the brain when cancer cells spread from another part of the body.
ABOUT THIS SURVEY
This research will require participation in an online survey that will take approximately 20 minutes for you to complete. It will also require access to a computer, Internet connection and a Web browser. You may stop taking this survey at any time, and you will have the right to withhold information, i.e., not answer a question, should you so wish.
This survey is only for people 18 years and older. This survey is only for people who have a primary (first) diagnosis of lung cancer, melanoma, breast cancer, colorectal cancer or kidney cancer and have then developed secondary cancer in the brain, known as “brain metastases”.
For the purposes of this survey, we will use the shorthand of “CNS/brain metastases” to refer to central nervous system (CNS) brain metastases. This includes metastasis in the brain or leptomeninges (also known as leptomeningeal disease, lepto, or LMD).
The survey is anonymous and confidential. We will not request any information that could identify you, and your name will never be associated with your survey responses. Any information you give will be treated in the strictest confidence and results will only be reported back on an aggregated basis.
This survey was originally developed by the American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA) in partnership with other US-based primary cancer organizations within the US Metastatic Brain Tumor Collaborative. It was adapted and modified for international use and distribution by the International Brain Tumour Alliance (IBTA) and with the collaboration of other international patient advocates.
