Jean Arzbaecher, RN, APN, is a Senior IBTA Advisor and lives in Chicago, United States.

Jean, an advanced practice nurse, currently works as a clinical nurse specialist in neuro-oncology at the University of Illinois brain tumor center. Jean has spent her entire career (27 years) in neuroscience nursing, and has worked exclusively in brain tumor care for eight years.

Jean is active in the neuroscience nursing organization AANN (American Association of Neuroscience Nurses). She has served as the local chapter president, as well as the special focus group facilitator for the neuro oncology group. She has presented numerous lectures on brain tumor topics both locally and nationally. She has published in peer-reviewed journals, contributed to the AANN core curriculum and written a book chapter for the oncology nursing society.

Jean started a brain tumor support group three years ago in Chicago and currently facilitates a monthly meeting of survivors and care givers. The group has over 100 members, and usually has between 30 and 50 participants at the monthly meetings.

Jean wrote an article for the IBTA magazine, Brain Tumour, and also assists in manning the IBTA stand at the annual ASCO (American Society for Clinical Oncology) meeting in Chicago.
