- The IBTA is very pleased to be working closely with the European Cancer Organisation (ECO) and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) as part of its “Special Network: Impact of the War in Ukraine on Cancer”. - The Society for Neuro-Oncology (SNO) has announced that Susan Chang, MD, has been appointed as the new Editor-in-Chief of SNO’s flagship publication, Neuro-Oncology which is an international, peer-reviewed journal, dedicated to providing rapid publication of original research articles, editorials, reviews, and letters on all aspects of the field of neuro-oncology.
- A new study published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation (JCI) reports that treatment with Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields), mediates cell disruption, activates the immune system and triggers an anti-tumor cell response that may be effectively used together with existing immunotherapy approaches in the treatment of solid tumors.
- A Phase 2 study has revealed that using an immune checkpoint inhibitor, a class of cancer drugs, can slow disease progression. These findings have been published in the open-access journal Nature Communications.
